|  |  | RIDING INTO A NEW SCHOOL YEAR |
|  | |  | Summer at Project: VISION wouldn’t be complete without PV Summer Camp! This year, we welcomed 80 middle schoolers for six weeks of fun, learning, and adventure. The camp has been packed with excitement, with 12 fun field trips throughout the program. Each day, they participated in 4 to 10 hours of engaging and diverse activities allowing them to explore new interests that they wouldn't have otherwise. |
| A few standout moments was the scavenger hunt in Chinatown, where students explored iconic landmarks and discovered the rich history of their community. We also organized team-based challenges that had students solving puzzles, racing, and working together to achieve their goals. To close out the camp on a high note, students had a blast at a trampoline park, bursting with energy and fun alongside the friends they made during camp!

| |  |  | This summer’s Chicagobility was filled with creative activities and learning experiences celebrating Asian American history and culture through food, community service, art-making, and project-based learning. Students explored art through field trips to the Color Factory and the Museum of Contemporary Art. In addition to their hands-on projects, students participated in five workshops that covered watercolor, mosaic art, fiber arts, and food preparation, enriching their artistic skills and creativity. |

|  | Over the course of six weeks, 60 students collaborated to create a 9 art projects centered around food insecurity, food waste, and sustainability in the local Chinatown/Chicago community. Their work included mosaic boxes, paper sculptures, and children’s books. They presented their final projects in an Art Showcase, where they invited guests from the Chinatown community to attend. |

| |  |  | | |  | | In 2018, as a high school senior, I joined the Project: VISION Lead program, hoping to take a step toward my future. That choice transformed my path. Through the program, I earned an internship at Exelon, working with databases—a challenging yet rewarding experience that helped me grow. This hands-on learning was key in securing my current role as an engineer at ComEd. Project: VISION gave me the confidence and skills to pursue my passion and turn it into a career. It’s proof that with the right guidance, dreams can become reality. |
| | While still in school, to build a professional network, attend any organized campus or professional events provided by the school. For instance, the campus-wide career fair, which occurs twice a year, provides students with the opportunity to network and connect with numerous professionals from various companies. It allows students to gain insight into the different industries and can potentially foster their interest in certain fields. |
| | The advice that I would give about applying to college is to understand the college. Understand what makes the college appeal to you whether it be the academic programs, the extracurricular activities, the campus environment or facilities, the cost of attending, or the financial aid and scholarship package. Understanding the college or university that you are applying to, would allow you to decide on the suitability of the college. |
